Algarve beach study

My painting today, is based on a previous visit to the Algarve. It's a study of a quiet little beach, frequented by mostly Portuguese people and few tourists. The sun was about to go down and the shadows were becoming long, but people still hung on to get the last bit of sun. It's oil on board, 6x8 ins, painted quickly and in a fluid like fashion, with the figures just indicated loosely.
